INCREASE

customer experience

Stores, websites, social networks, emails, forums, chatrooms, text messages, etc. Saint-Gobain’s omnichannel approach ensures the connection between the various physical and digital touchpoints remains fluid and coherent. Beyond that, a battery of digital tools developed by the Group’s brands is simplifying all customers’ lives and construction work from inspiration to after-sales.

Guiding consumers

In France the lamaisonsaintgobain.fr website helps guide consumers through their building or renovation work, making sure it is well designed and executed. It is at once a source of inspiration, information and advice, and a contact platform.

Serving trade professionals

Quotation software, layout software and one-click ordering as well as platforms to provide contact with customers: Saint-Gobain’s in-store and online digital services improve trade professionals’ visibility and efficiency.

Co-designing with manufacturers

Design thinking, “sales concept” and digital manufacturing encourage the co-construction of tailor-made solutions and the provision of services throughout the product’s life cycle reinvents the model. In the aerospace industry, for example, Saint-Gobain can switch from the sale of cockpit windows to the sale of flight hours.

INDUSTRIAL

revolution

Standard 4.0 is developing in the Saint-Gobain group’s industrial park. The Ceramics plant in Mezzocorona (Italy) is deploying a data analysis system. The Sekurit factory in Devisa (Spain) has invested in collaborative robots and virtual reality improves the ergonomics of workstations on the Société Verrière d’Encapsulation (France) site. The automation of tasks at the Campbellfield (Australia) plant of the Abrasives and Composite Systems BU increases production rates by 75%, with 2 million unstacked wheels per month, while reducing the risk of accidents.

ENRICHED

construction

Stakeholders of the building and housing industry now work collaboratively using a single Building Information Modeling (BIM) system, with all the building drawings and the information about the components’ characteristics. They thus have an overall view of the building at each stage in its life cycle.

THE WORKING

community

Saint-Gobain is becoming a learning company: MOOCs and e-learning platforms allow the teams to renew their skills. The managerial culture emphasizes continuous feedback with the support of coaching platforms. The Group is recruiting new profiles: this is a call for automation, 3D printing, data science, design and user experience specialists.
